How Cignpost Diagnostics Prevented A COVID-19 Office Outbreak

On Thursday April 15th at 5PM, two employees tested positive for COVID-19 at Tenant Shop’s office in Grantham, after one of them took a lateral flow test due to loss of smell and taste.  A manager at Inchora then took immediate steps to shut down the office until at least the following Monday. This left employees very concerned about their own health status and also having to return to working from home.

 On Thursday evening, Inchora contacted Cignpost Diagnostics to arrange for all employees at the company’s Grantham office, including Tenant Shop and Better Protect (part of Inchora) - both of whom have offices in the same building - to be PCR tested. A rota was then drawn up and all staff were contacted to inform them of their testing appointment for the following day, Friday.

 Cignpost Diagnostics immediately responded to the testing request and on Friday April 16th, a member of the team arrived at the Grantham offices around midday with testing kits. Testing commenced at 12.15PM, with staff arriving in their allocated five-minute time slots. Covid testing for employees was conducted outside; an Inchora manager helped prep the swab and ensure the process ran smoothly for his staff overall. Both the tester from Cignpost Diagnostics and the manager wore full P.P.E. throughout, not only following correct protocols but also giving confidence to the team being tested.

 Due to Cignpost’s experience in workplace covid testing and agility, the testing process was completed by around 2PM, with 21 staff members tested. The subsequent test results, all of which were negative, were promptly returned to staff members. Each member was personally contacted, as were their team leaders, to inform them of the result. Due to Cignpost’s expertise, staff were able to return to work by Monday, with the assurance that they were not infected, nor would they become infected at their workplace.

 In only 24 hours, the infection status of all colleagues was known, the business had only been disrupted for one day and everything was back to normal.
