Cignpost Diagnostics Provided Mobile COVID-19 Testing Facilities To Enable BBC TV Productions

The BBC approached Cignpost Diagnostics to support their COVID-19 testing strategy for the lead drama production of ‘The Pursuit of Love’. The BBC required a truly mobile solution that could be deployed across multiple sites as the production moves to different locations.

Cignpost Diagnostics designed, procured, installed, and equipped a ‘Luton Van’ BSL2 laboratory in 3 weeks. The Laboratory can be packed up and re-equipped in under 2 hours and has full WiFi-enabled connectivity for remote location reporting and inventory management.

This type of vehicle can support 2 scientists and has a capacity of around 250 to 500 tests per day based on operational methods and instrument selection.

The Cignpost Diagnostics COVID-19 screening service has allowed The Pursuit of Love to return to work quickly and safely and to get us back to doing what we do best - producing great television. The mobile laboratory is extremely professional, staffed by a team of technicians who efficiently turn our tests around quickly with results back with us within a few short hours. I’ve been especially impressed at the flexibility shown by the Cignpost Diagnostics team who have reacted quickly to changes in the testing numbers as our schedule has evolved throughout the shoot.
