Cignpost Diagnostics have teamed up with Canyon dhb SunGod, Aramco Team series and Sail GP to provide them with Covid 19 testing and screening services. These partnerships expand Cignpost Diagnostic’s presence across sports such as golf and now includes sailing and cycling.

Cignpost have tested Sail GP at the Great British Sail Grand Prix which was held on the 17-18th July and will be Canyon DHB Sungod’s official UK testing partner for Tour Of Britain 2021 which starts in September. Two of the SunGod’s team, Ollie Wood and Charlie Tanfield, will also be attending the Tokyo Olympics this summer. Cignpost’s partnership with Aramco Team Series also marks greater expansion in the golf world as Cignpost Diagnostics continues to provide testing for the PGA European Tour.

Cignpost Diagnostics are class leading in providing testing for many industries such as sport, travel, finance, film & television. Through their mobile testing, events around the world have been able to continue safely. Upon testing, swab results come back within a maximum four hours, thanks to their world-class equipment with Gold Standard accuracy and sensitivity.

Responding to the new partnerships, Christian Corney, CEO of Cignpost Diagnostics, stated the increased importance of PCR testing for the reopening of events:

As lockdown restrictions continue to ease, the likelihood of community transmissions will increase, especially given the return of mass-scale events such as those we have just seen in relation to Wimbledon and the Euros. Now, with the announcement that attendees will need proof of double vaccination to enter these sort of events, it is important that testing is offered as a viable alternative for spectators. This is important given that the Government’s mass pilot events assessments appear to indicate that transmission can be restricted when proper viral hygiene and gold-standard PCR testing is deployed.”

“It is no surprise that we are still seeing increased demand from sports organisations looking to ensure that they are taking the necessary procedures to reduce covid-19 transmission. As an organisation, we are delighted to be expanding our partnerships within the elite sports world and to be helping to guarantee the safety of athletes across the world.”

Jennie Kim of SailGP said: "Keeping our world-class athletes, global staff, guests, media and fans safe is absolutely paramount to us at SailGP. It is essential that we take the necessary procedures to reduce Covid-19 transmissions and our partnership with Cignpost Diagnostics – as official screening services supplier for the Great Britain Sail Grand Prix  – is an essential part of this. Their expertise, operations on site and ability to turn around fast and accurate results was essential to the successful running of the event and screening services is now an essential part of the fabric of any event in these current times."

Simon Holt of Canyon dhb SunGod said: “Our partnership with Cignpost Diagnostics has been essential in running and enabling our foreign race programme through this year. We have been able to utilise their network of testing sites across the UK for our riders who are geographically spread for the Fit-to-fly testing where they can conveniently fit this in around their intense training programmes.

The fast turn-around of results also ensures a Covid-19 free bubble when we travel and provides peace of mind to the riders and their family in an uncertain time when we are crossing borders”
