Take the quiz below to find out how your company fairs in returning to work:
Employers should take all reasonable steps to help people work from home. But for those who cannot work from home and whose workplace has not been told to close, here is a list of six great things you can be doing to help return to work and send your staff back into the workplace safely:
Communication about COVID-19
Communicate with your employees and provide detailed information on the changes, rules and regulations to ensure staff members adhere to COVID-19-secure rules. For example, social distancing, hand sanitisation, wearing masks etc. At this time, listen to employees to ensure all staff feel safe and comfortable. Most importantly, after conducting your COVID-19 Risk Assessment (as per government guidelines), ensure your staff are kept up-to-date and are aware of the results.
Adequate Ventilation
Ventilation can significantly limit the risk of the virus spreading in an enclosed environment, such as an office, classroom, or studio. Ventilation can be achieved by using air conditioning or just simply opening the windows of your office.
Limit Surfaces
Limit the number of surfaces that staff in the office need to touch to reduce the virus's spread. For example, keep doors open as much as possible, so multiple people don't need to touch the same door. Try to avoid shared workspaces such as office desks to adhere to social distancing. It is also advisable to have allocated seating for all workers so that the risk of spreading the virus can be limited if someone in the workplace contracts COVID-19.
Daily temperature checks
These checks are a simple way to trace for COVID-19 symptoms. By checking temperatures before an employee enters the workplace, you can be aware of high temperatures which may be a sign of COVID-19, limiting its risk throughout the workplace.
No face-to-face meetings
Avoid having in-person face to face meetings and use remote-working tools instead to limit the contact employees have with each other. Only necessary parties should attend physical meetings and must always adhere to social distancing guidelines.
On-site testing
For many sectors, the only way to ensure a fully safe workforce is to create a safe zone through thorough on-site COVID-19 testing. Not only will you be able to identify those who have been in contact with COVID-19 positive individuals, but also minimise disruption to the business. Most importantly, on-site testing could safeguard staff from COVID-19 exposure. To discuss our bespoke solutions for your organisation, click below.
